I’ve skipped menu planning and been taking it day by day for a few weeks now because the thought of food generally makes me a bit queasy. Anyone with suggestions on successfully meal planning with morning/all day sickness I would love to hear them! I want to get back to the weekend cooking habit – weekday meals go much more smoothly that way, so I’m trying to get back on track this week. Here’s what we have on the schedule:
Monday: pork chops and mashed potatoes
Tuesday: beef stroganoff and green beans
Wednesday: pasta with pork and vegetables
Thursday: grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and tomato soup
Friday: strawberry banana pancakes and eggs
I’m trying to work on a list of meals that sounds good to me while I’m feeling queasy – hoping that if I do feel queasy at night (just as likely as in the morning) then I’ll still be up for dinner. I tried to stay pretty basic this week, and also cook Would love some suggestions/feedback!

Been reading for some time...congrats on the bun!
I had morning/all day sickness with both pregnancies the entire pregnancy! I found that if I sat down and came up with a month's worth of ideas and just got stocked up and replaced what we ate this week by writing down what we used as my shopping list, I didn't have to give it too much thought and it kept the queasiness at bay.
That in mind, every meal was extremely simple and I would make enough for one night's meal to last for two.

Bless your heart Steph! I hope the sickies end soon! Lots of fast, simple meals. Frozen whole wheat waffles, lots of little snacks to keep the queasiness at bay too. Never let your tummy get empty.
Also, oranges helped me....just to suck on a piece and get the juice out. The citrus smell helped the queasiness.

I did find that Altoids Ginger really helped me when I was so sick with the twins...

Congrats on the baby! Do you have a slow cooker? I was always sick at night, so if I could throw stuff in the pot in the morning, I could eat it at night. Also, plain baked turkey breast was a favorite of mine. Go figure.
I totally couldn't do pork or chicken when I was pregnant with the twins. Ugh! I also couldn't go to our company sponsored cafeteria... just the smell of that place made me queasy. I also craved grits! (funny for a "yankee" like me!--J's mother was so proud :-)
They make these frozen pasta meals that don't take too long to make, which are great when you're not feeling well, and kids (like Sweetpea) usually like them. Some are made by Bertolli. Yum! Pasta worked for me.

It's barely been a year and a half, and I can't remember how I fed my family when I was pregnant with my son. Nothing sounded good to me! I think I just made stuff anyways, and tried not to gag. Your menu sounds really good though. I hope you're feeling better soon!

I think it's definitely going to be key for me in the next few weeks at least to try and cook in the early part of the day, whether that means weekends or crockpot meals. I'm too queasy in the evenings.
