38 weeks - I have a shelf!

I am very much looking forward to being off next week - washing some teeny tiny baby clothes, doing a bit more cooking, taking naps...and I can't believe in two short weeks (as long as things go as planned - HA) I will get to meet this sweet baby and introduce him or her to an adorable and enthusiastic big sister!

Baby bump - 37 weeks

As I was waddling in yesterday, one of my coworkers said, "Stephanie, you look a bit...off balance!" Conversely, even with the weight of this belly propelling me forward, I'm moving much more slowly than usual. ;)

Cruisin' the boardwalk

Baby bump, 34wks

Does it seem like cheating that I keep dressing in black? I'm not sure it's working so well to minimize things anymore? ;)

Coming out of the fog - sort of...

I had a "going on vacation" post scheduled for a week ago Sunday, along with some scheduled posts while we were away, but blogger decided to go on strike for me right before we left and none of it would publish correctly! That said, it was nice to be unplugged for a bit over a week.
We had a fantastic vacation! Sweetpea was a champ on the plane both directions and we stayed in a great place right on the beach with lots of family friendly activities nearby. We returned home very late on Monday night - no one slept well that night, so I definitely feel like I've been in a fog since arriving home. Luckily we had a washer and drier at our condo, so there isn't a big pile of laundry hanging over my head, just the "to do before baby arrives" list to get back to.

I'm definitely feeling my body tell me to slow down and take it easy, though I'm still feeling really good. I'll be napping, nesting, enjoying some one on one time with Sweetpea and sorting through vacation photos the next few days. I'll leave you with this sneaky 33wk belly shot EmDee took at the kiddie pool a few days ago.

What have you been up to?

Birthdays and baby bumps

Here is a peak at Sweetpea's second birthday party. I'm waiting to get my MIL's photos and hoping there are some good ones in there. We did a much better job of documenting with the camcorder this year than the camera, and that is a lesson I need to remember so we don't repeat it!

There were a few cute pictures, including this new favorite of mine:
Can you tell where Sweetpea got her amazing eye color? Right...not from me!

She was super excited about the presents this year, which was fun to see, and really good at opening presents.
Testing...
The stroller was a favorite, there have been lots of trips around the house and the front yard for various dolls in the past two weeks.

A few sweet readers have asked how I'm doing and for a progress report on the pregnancy. I had my 18 week appointment yesterday and it went very well! The heartbeat is strong and the baby is measuring right on target. I've gained 3 pounds, but my sweet doctor said that wasn't unexpected since I was so sick the first trimester. Sadly I'm sure I'll make that up in the coming weeks... Here's a glimpse of the 18 week belly bump:

Taking treats to work today...

I always assumed that engineers were more food obsessed at work than most environments, but maybe it's this way everywhere...have a stash of old Halloween candy? Bring it in and watch it disappear before lunch. Try out a new recipe and your family doesn't want to be the guinea pig again? Bring it in - like Mikey in the commercial for Life cereal growing up, my coworkers will try anything.

Following this food obsession, there are a few food related expectations that surprised me when I started working here. Having a birthday? You have to bring the food in to celebrate. (does that make any sense?!) Announcing that you're expecting a baby? Bring in food that is pink and blue.

Does your family or office have any funny traditions like this?

Baby Bumps

Preggy Facts:

1. Who did you first inform about your pregnancy and how? My husband had already guessed, but I was totally surprised. We were getting ready to go on a vacation to Hawaii, so when I found out for sure, I told him, "no free drinks at the luau for me!"

2. Maximum weight? I'm going to follow Steph's lead on this one, Sweetpea weighed 7lbs 4oz Oh, and I guess I will also say, I gained 40lbs, which is why I'm participating in the tweightloss challenge some 17 months later! I have lost 37 of those lbs now!

3. Cravings? Root beer

4. Aversions? anything greasy, but that isn't too unusual for me

5. Morning Sickness? a little bit of all day sickness, nothing too bad

D Day Facts:

1. Number of Kids/Deliveries? 1 baby, 1 delivery so far, though I'm getting a serious itch for #2 lately

2. NSD or CS? C-section due to a very tangled baby and a short cord...I really wanted a natural drug free delivery, but was delighted regardless when I saw my little miracle!

3. Girl or Boy? Girl

4. AOG (age of gestation) on Birth? 41wks

5. How long in labor? 19hrs before deciding this baby wasn't going to ever drop into position
