Menu Plan Monday

Last week was a super simple short week, and I still got off track! {blushing}
Monday and Tuesday went as scheduled, but we didn't get our prep work done on Sunday for the lettuce wraps. EmDee texted me in the afternoon and suggested we hit Applebee's happy hour for 1/2 price appetizers...I have to say it didn't take me long to respond! It was a fun, unexpected "family date night" and we split 3 large appetizer plates for only $17 with tip!

While we were waiting for our food, Sweetpea wanted to walk around and look at all the crazy decorations, so we wandered aimlessly for a few minutes. When she came to the barstools she wanted to sit in one, so I hoisted her up and sat at the stool next to her. We were sitting next to several older gentlemen. She immediately had them waving at her! Then the super nice bartender asked what we wanted. I told her we were just passing time waiting for our food, and she brought down a shoebox sized plastic container full of toys for Sweetpea to play with!

When our food came, I tried to remove Sweetpea from the toys. She's a smart little girl, and she knows mom doesn't like her making a scene (okay maybe not, but this is how it seemed to play out) so when I picked her up from her barstool, she screamed bloody murder. This prompted me to sit her down to regroup, and the men next to us all to start laughing and saying they knew who was really in charge. Luckily, the bartender didn't mind if we borrowed her toy box, so we headed back to our table loaded down with matchbox cars and spongebobs, among other things. The rest of dinner went well, with everyone enjoying dinner. No matter how many of "our" toys I bring, it's always someone else's toys that are the hit!

Now that I got completely off track, let's get back to this week's menu.

Monday: Chicken stirfry over rice
Tuesday: Spaghetti with garlic bread and green salad
Wednesday: lettuce wraps & noodle salad
Thursday: leftover free for all
Friday: breakfast for dinner - omlette casserole and pumpkin banana pancakes with decaf pumpkin spiced lattes! (if you're coming over from OrgJunkie, the lattes are perfect for pairing with pumpkin bread - Mr. Linky is doing mean things to me, I didn't mean to say that!)

That sounds like a yummy menu plan. I love those pumpkin spice lattes too. I am hoping to try a recipe for pumpkin biscotti this week. What would go better with it than one of those? :)

Sounds like a great dinner out and a great menu for the week too! Something with my meal plans almost always gets thrown off for one reason or another - going out to eat is the best way to get sidetracked! :-)

I have got to get my menu together--I did one of those crazy runs to Costco Friday where I didn't plan well and came home with lots of stuff--but not sure if there's a true meal in there! Thanks for getting me motivated!!
Blessings!
