Christmas Activty Garland

I wrote a few weeks ago about the Christmas activity garland we were going to make - each link in the chain would have an activity, one for each day through the month of December leading up to Christmas. This combines the fun of a countdown garland with the structure we need to make each activity work - I choose the day of the week and the order for each activity. I wanted to give you a quick update on our progress (since yesterday was December first - gasp!) and if you'd like to see how the chain turned out, check back tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday!
Here are our activities for the month, in order:

1. Create activity garland and hang across mantle
2. Listen to holiday music while sipping hot chocolate
5. Put up Christmas tree
6. Bake cookies and string lights on Christmas tree
7. Decorate Christmas tree
8. Take Christmas coloring pages to daycare
9. Make rudolf craft
10. Give each other Santa beards during bath time
11. Watch a Christmas movie (the year without a santa claus, our favorite!)
12. Read the true story of Christmas
13. Decorate cookies
14. Visit Santa
15. Family handprint wreaths (following these general directions but with handprints from each family member)
16. Deliver cookies to friends
17. Drive to see Christmas lights
19. Make Christmas presents for Sweetpea's cousins
20. Make peppermint ice cream
21. Light a fire in the fireplace and listen to holiday music with the lights off
22. Visit the fire station and take the firemen some cookies
23. Visit our local Holiday Fest
24. Family over for Christmas Eve dinner - dine in pajamas
25. Enjoy breakfast cookies and milk, open gifts and visit Mamaw's house

There will likely be many other activities fit into our schedule here and there, but this way we are doing something small each day to celebrate the season.

What a great list! I love it! We do our Christmas Jar each year, but I am running behind this year on it. I am giving myself permission to do a twelve day countdown this time.

This is a great activity list- thanks so much for sharing!

HOLY COW! I swear if I had that list planned I would just go ahead and crawl into a ball under my bed. You are to be much commended for all your awesome holiday spirit. Perhaps you can spill a little over onto ME?

What a great idea! This is our first Christmas away from home as a family. We are out of the country and across the pond. I am looking for some traditions of our own. We are getting a late start. But we will start counting down!

Just catching up here on this week's posts. We do something similar at our house through the month of December - I'm hoping to have time to post about it soon. Happy Holidays! :-)
